I remember Stan as a frequent topic of conversation around our family dinner table during his years at CAL. My Dad (Heber) had been his swimming and water polo coach at Whittier High School and we celebrated Stan's many victories, one after another. When Stan visited, I would find myself riding around on his shoulders, feeling sure I was suddenly "Princess of the World".
I appreciate Stan honoring my father by including him at his induction to the UC Berkeley Athletic Hall of Fame and coming from Hawaii for Dad's memorial service.
